Gather Kitchen Mercantile: a new kid in the block on Public Square, Columbia, Tenn.

A new kitchen store has officially opened its doors to the public in downtown Columbia, allowing the locals and their neighbors to shop for high-end kitchen products within walking distance.

Known as Gather Kitchen Mercantile, the Public Square-based business offers high-end kitchen appliances, including cutlery, soup kits, dishware, and everything the kitchen may need. The kitchen and houseware retail outlet occupies the space where the former Muletown Coffee used to be.

Speaking about their new venture, the business’ co-founder, Adam York, said:

“We wanted to honor this space, to retain the authenticity of all the great memories people have of what happened here—the feel of what it was. It still has the character of being right next door to all the coffee shop folks who spent days in here.”

Where family and friends “gather”

The kitchen is where family and friends gather. According to the Houzz kitchen trends report for 2023, 92% of homeowners in the US are concerned about sustainability when considering a kitchen renovation. They are looking for energy-efficient appliances, LED light bulbs, and high-tech accessories.

With this new development, Columbia’s downtown square has added yet another layer to its business landscape, which aims to provide new and exciting ways to improve the home.

Located at 23 Public Square, Gather is open 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. It’s also open on Sundays between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Customers can also shop online at https://gatherkitchenmercantile.com/.
